WES for Youth Online recognizes that our work, and the work of our community and corporate partners takes place on traditional Indigenous territories across the province. We acknowledge that there are 46 treaties and other agreements that cover the territory now called Ontario. We are thankful to be able to work and live in these territories. We respectfully acknowledge the Indigenous people who have cared for these territories since the beginning of time and who continue to contribute to the strength of Ontario. WFYO is privileged to collaborate with Indigenous clients, collaborators and communities throughout the various territories.
WES for Youth Online commits to supporting Indigenous children, youth, and families in the communities we serve. We commit to creating equitable spaces for Indigenous staff, board members, partners, and community members. We call for an end to the systemic inequities faced by Indigenous communities. We are attentive to reconciliation and to partnering with Indigenous people and organizations that are active in the youth mental health space. Through ongoing efforts to work with and support Indigenous youth, we look to reinforce the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, such as: aiding in closing gaps in the mental health care system.
