Eileen has a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and is a member in good standing of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and The Psychology Association of Saskatchewan. Eileen’s has a passion for working within the field of mental health, developmental disabilities, and autism, which has guided her education choices and her career path to bring her to this juncture.
Eileen has completed Cyber-counselling Level 1 and Level 2 and is currently working towards her BCBA certification. For the last five years, she has worked as a Director for an Autism Intervention Program and helped develop and supervise the Mental Health and Wellness Team while providing counselling and support services to those individuals (youth and adults) with autism spectrum disorder, depression and/or anxiety, as well as working with families and couples on the spectrum. Eileen has also provided counselling support to siblings and families of individuals on the spectrum. Eileen has completed training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Positive Interactive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Eileen and her family relocated from Northern British Columbia to SK in 2011 to assume the position of Autism Consultant and Early Childhood Psychologist for the Sunrise Health Region. Prior to that, she worked in a rural area of BC, where she was contracted by a number of private consulting companies in the areas of behaviour management and therapy. During her time in BC, she also worked under the supervision of a neuropsychologist in the administration of assessment testing tools for those from birth to elderly.
Always involved in services and supports for children and youth with special needs, she has been an educational trainer, a program developer, and a behavioural consultant. Deeply committed to children, youth and their families, Eileen views her greatest contribution as being involved in improving the lives of people impacted by mental health issues and/or developmental disabilities. Very much a team player and a life-long learner, she is excited about becoming a part of the team of dedicated professionals working to support youth impacted by mental health issues.
