Our Registration Process & What to Expect

Thank you for your interest in signing up for our FREE e-counselling program. We understand that sometimes taking the first step and reaching out for support may not be easy. But just remember, similar to how we go see a medical doctor when we are feeling physically unwell, it is perfectly normal, and common, to seek support from others when we are not feeling our best. A counsellor is someone with professional training who can help us feel, and understand ourselves, better.

Also remember, you can talk to your e-counsellor about anything!  No issue is too small or unimportant to share with your counsellor – if it’s affecting you and you’d like to share it with someone who will understand, then e-counselling could be for you!

To make your first step of reaching out for support just a tiny bit easier, here is more information about what to expect if you do choose to sign-up for our e-counselling services.

As a way of ensuring your autonomy is respected at all times, we encourage all youths to initiate the registration process on your own; that is, no parents, or anyone else, are allowed to sign-up on your behalf!  You don’t even need to ask your parents for permission, talk to your guidance counsellor or get a Doctor’s note in order to register with us.

Once you have signed-up using your email address, you will then be emailed a link to activate your account.  After your account is activated, you can then complete a quick questionnaire for us.  Feel free to tell us as much, or as little, as you like on your questionnaire!  The purpose of the questionnaire is just for us to get to know you a little more; the more we know about you, the better we can then match you with the most appropriate counsellor.

It may also be nice to know that we do not have a waitlist – most of our youths are connected with their assigned counsellor within 24-48 business hours after registration.

All of our counselling services are done via our secure online portal – it can be provided through email-to-email messaging, scheduled live-chat, telephone, or video-conferencing (the format and time can be discussed and arranged directly between you and your assigned counsellor).

Since you will be matched to work with one assigned counsellor, every time you reach out, you will be speaking with the same person – that means you won’t have to keep repeating your story to someone new every time! If for whatever reason you want to switch counsellors, that’s okay too!  Just tell our office staff by emailing: support@wesforyouthonline.ca

Lastly, remember, there is no commitment – while you will need to participate in the development of your own counselling goals, you can also choose to stop counselling anytime you want!

If you have any further questions, inquiries or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at: support@wesforyouthonline.ca and we will be more than happy to help you.

Wishing you all the very best!
