(They/She)
Annie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Art Therapist — they hold a BA from Trent University, Graduate Certificate in Addiction, Mental Health & Concurrent Disorders from Confederation College, and a Masters in Counselling Psychology & Art Therapy from Adler University.
Annie is neurodivergent, queer, white, and was raised by immigrants. With lived experience of trauma, addiction, and mental health ‘stuff’; Annie always knew they wanted to work in a helping profession, and began their career in suicide intervention & prevention in 2011 after losing a good friend to suicide. Through the years Annie has worked with survivors of human trafficking, unhoused individuals, survivors of interpersonal violence, residents of remote First Nations in Northern Ontario, urban Indigenous folks, and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Their practice is rooted in social justice and they operate from a trauma informed, anti-oppressive framework. They approach people with compassion and unconditional positive regard, taking a relational, person-centred approach to providing wholistic care. As an Art Therapist, Annie welcomes expressive modalities like art, drama, music, dance, and play to therapy.
Outside of the therapy space you can find Annie in the nearest body of water,
playing Sims or Stardew Valley, reading, making art, or hanging out with their
golden retriever, Memphis.
