Hillary Trudeau is an Anishinaabe Kwe from Serpent River First Nation and grew up in Southampton Ontario.
Presently, Hillary works for Serpent River First Nation as the Director of Education. Prior to this role, Hillary has worked for and with Indigenous communities in various roles in education and employment programming. Hillary was part of the inaugural Feather Carriers – Leadership for Life Promotion program. Feather Carriers draws on Indigenous concepts of leadership for protection and promotion of community health and well-being. Hillary is an advocate for mental health and wellbeing, and ensuring mental health services are accessible and free to all youth. Hillary endeavors to continue her own healing journey and believes that growing and healing is not linear.
Hillary graduated from the University of Guelph-Bachelor of Arts (2009); Algoma University-Certificate Community Economic & Social Development (2013) and Georgian College – Certificate in Project Management (2017)
Hillary happily resides in Northern Ontario with her daughter.
