Mariam is a registered Social Worker offering psychotherapy and counseling services. She has over 25 years of experience working with children, youth, and their families. She graduated with her Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and continues to take post graduate training and certificate programs to ensure that her interventions utilize current, evidence-based practices.
For most of her career, Mariam has worked in the education system. She has extensive experience working with youth struggling with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, and stress management. She uses a non-judgmental approach which allows her to develop rapport quickly with clients. She makes her clients feel at ease with her non-judgemental, compassionate, and empathetic approach. This allows clients to develop solutions to their problems with her support and
encouragement. Mariam uses a wide variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Coaching, Narrative, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. She practices from an anti-oppressive and trauma informed framework. Mariam is registered with the Ontario Association of Social Workers and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Worker.
Mariam enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and reading. She also enjoys hiking and
being outdoors in her free time.
